Compresses data to be sent to a 3270 CRT or printer by removing repetitive characters, or optionally suppressing characters known to already be on a CRT screen ("inbound compression"). This improves transaction response time by reducing transmission time and also by reducing contention between terminals on the same line. Reduction typically varies between 15% and 75%. A CICS display transaction is provided to show transmission reduction statistics.
